one of our designs that we erm …no longer have access to…or something

“Over the past few years we have designed a few t-shirts for ourselves and mates.
We started getting a bit fed up when these designs turned up at other places.
We are not here to compete, not here to do anybody out of a living,
we just think that we have some good ideas.”

…and so began “The Originals”.

We never set up a shop on this site because we sold by word of mouth. It wasn’t all about selling shirts.  We also had a nightmare trying to get any sense from the many e-commerce “solutions” we had available.

We had some popular designs, some not so popular.  We always said our books were open to investigation by anybody who had a genuine grievance or really needed to know if and how much money we were making.
Nobody took up the offer and we probably lost more than we made. That offer still stands.

It has been brought to our attention that for some reason the designs, our designs, are no longer available to us, the designers, and that the 1878 Originals Shirts are on sale through other outlets.

It could be argued that an idea or concept is not actually design and the artwork belongs to the company who gave us proofs and produced the shirts.  It cannot be argued that artwork and design supplied by us belongs to us. I’m sure “The Originals Style” can be applied and sold to the official/unofficial website punters and passed off as “new designs” maybe it already has.  I’m sure they will be coming to a fifty quid a head, 500 “punter” dinner near you soon.  To those who are selling our designs and passing them off as their own, we applaud your opportunism and are proud to know our designs will make somebody else a few quid.  Same as it ever was. Please feel free to use all The Originals designs and if you need some ideas for new stuff please don’t hesitate to get in touch.  Just pass the message on at your nearest wash house and it will undoubtedly reach us.

We still have some old design shirts, our shirts, our designs,  available and are offering them at £5.00 each. We anticipate Postage at around £2.50 and any monies left after that will be split between our designated charities.
Anybody with any suggestions with regards to specific charities please let us know.

If imitation is the best form of flattery then rest assured….we are truly flattered, but then we have been flattered (and skint) for years.

We are working on some new designs as we speak and will hopefully unveil our latest in the next couple of days.  A whole new set of designs ready to be plagiarised.

As ever there is right and there is wrong…those that understand need no explanation.  After all….WE’RE EVERTON AREN’T WE.
